Nogomet

Nogomet is the term used in several Slavic languages, including Croatian and Serbian, to refer to soccer, known as football in most parts of the world. It is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players, where the primary objective is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is played on a rectangular field with goals at either end and is governed by the Laws of the Game established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Nogomet is known for its global popularity, competitive leagues, and international tournaments, such as the FIFA World Cup. The sport emphasizes teamwork, physical fitness, and skill, and it plays a significant cultural role in many societies.
