President William Ruto has taken a swipe at Raila Odinga over the Jacaranda rally slated for Sunday, January 29- after Raila Odinga said that he doesn’t recognize him as the president.
The first in command while launching the affordable housing projects in Shauri Moyo assured Kenyans that he will continue delivering despite the distractions – rallies.
“Wao wamepeleka wtoto wao bunge Arusha, halafu watoto wenu wanapelekwa Kamukunji Grounds na Jacaranda kutupa mawe…hiyo hatukubali(they have taken their children to Arusha(EALA) while you will be taken to Jacaranda to throw stones,” said Ruto.
While responding to Raila’s demands for him to step down, Ruto made it clear that those are just sideshows- meant to distract him from delivering.
“Ile sitaki ni wanibebee ati nishughulike na mambo yao na niwache mambo ya Wakenya milioni 50…hiyo Hapana,” said the President.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja promised to lead a push to have Azimio leaders in Nairobi set aside their political associations and work with the Kenya Kwanza government, but Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said they must first show loyalty to the head of state.
“Sasa rais mimi nitaleta hawa MCAs wote wa Kenya Kwanza na Azimio…na wabunge wote Nairobi tuongee na wewe mambo ya maendeleo,” said Governor Sakaja.
However , in a rejoinder DP Rgachagua told off Sakaja that they must first meet him to show their loyalty first to the president.
“Governor Sakaja umesema vizuri lakini lazima kwanza wapitie kwangu niwaweke mizani…juzi mkubwa wao alisema hatambui William Ruto na wakapiga makofi.”
